For more than a century, Starr Commonwealth has operated under founder Floyd Starr's belief that "there is no such thing as a bad child." Now in our 105th year of providing strength-based services for children, youth, families, and communities, Starr's mission remains, "To create positive environments where children and families flourish."

A 501 (c)(3) human services organization, Starr operates a full spectrum of programs across Michigan, with headquarters in Albion and campuses in Battle Creek and Detroit. Starr Commonwealth offers residential treatment programming, community-based and in-home services, and professional coaching and consulting, all of which focus on identifying, treating, and healing trauma and pain-based behavior and building resiliency in children and families.

This year's 105th Anniversary Celebration will celebrate Starr's successful approach to working with those we serve, in addition to our steadfast belief that all children have the innate power to transform into something bold and beautiful, and all children have the power to take flight and achieve their own greatness.

The event will feature a strolling dinner, great conversation, an open bar, and full access to the beautiful Wildlife Interpretive Gallery and Butterfly Garden.

Starr will also be presenting two awards to honor child advocates and leaders from the greater community that share and live our values. The Oneness of Humankind Award will be presented to Joe and Clara Stewart for their devotion to philanthropy and their work in promoting equality, inclusion, and the healing of racism. The Child Advocacy Award will be presented to Lincoln Park School District for their district-wide efforts in meeting social and emotional needs and building resilience in their students. We are excited to honor each award winner, to share the spirit of service, and to feel the power one and oneness.

We hope you will join us for this great night of celebration, we hope you will continue to Stand Tall with Starr, and we hope you fly with us into our next 100 years of service!
